Amplify celebrations

Be the speaker.

Martin-Luc Archambault came up with the original idea for AmpMe. The Dragon’s Den “dragon” and investor asked our team to create a mobile application that could synchronize iOS and Android devices and allow them to play the same music at the same time. The idea came to him during a trip to Whistler, when he wanted to put on some music to celebrate his friend’s new apartment but found himself without speakers. The application had to be able to connect an unlimited number of devices operating on different platforms, allowing them to play the same music at the same time.

Our solution.

The synchronization algorithm created by the Mirego team for AmpMe is unique. Frequency fingerprints and signal processing techniques are used to enable the continued synchronization of devices throughout an entire AmpMe Party. No other solution on the market allows synchronization without Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or proprietary hardware.

In collaboration with Martin-Luc Archambault, the Mirego team established the product’s scope and took care of the design, Android and iOS development, infrastructure, roll-out, and many other tasks related to the development of the application.

Since its launch on September 24, 2016, AmpMe has been very successful with the media and with users. The mobile app is compatible with iOS and Android phones and tablets, as well as Bluetooth speakers that include a microphone (e.g. Jambox). An application extension for Apple Watch is also available and allows hosts to control AmpMe playback.

The Mirego team, with whom I worked, took the project very, very seriously. I felt that the application was also theirs.

I never felt like a customer. This feeling is essential and isn’t easily found.
