Plains of Abraham launches new website

November 27 — 2024

The Plains of Abraham's new website has launched, marking a successful partnership between Mirego's team and the National Battlefields Commission. This reimagined digital platform elevates the visitor experience at Canada's first national historic park, delivering an online presence that matches the site's historic significance.

The project's main objective was to implement a new, modern website aligned with current standards. The old Plains website, over 11 years old, suffered from major technical limitations and lacked responsive design. The goals were to faithfully develop and deploy the brand identity, deliver an improved user experience, and position the site as a tourism showcase. As the Plains of Abraham offers numerous activities and events, the new website needed to highlight these offerings effectively, reflecting the current programming.

“Our goal was to bring the Plains of Abraham's new brand to life online, showcasing the park's dynamic and inclusive nature. The result meets our expectations, providing users with both an inspiring discovery platform and an efficient transactional tool.”

⏤ Katherine Laflamme, Director of Marketing & Development, National Battlefields Commission

The new site has been completely reimagined to deliver an intuitive online experience.

Key features include:

  • Streamlined navigation paths providing quick access to key information for visitors, teachers, and event organizers.
  • An interactive map enabling visitors to easily explore the park's points of interest, activities, and services.
  • A comprehensive, user-friendly events calendar to keep track of all activities taking place on the grounds.
  • An online reservation system for activities and events, enabling visitors to plan their visit with just a few clicks.

From reimagining the content architecture to integrating third-party solutions and developing custom features, the Mirego team leveraged its expertise throughout this landmark project to deliver an online experience worthy of this exceptional historic site.

“We conducted extensive research to identify and implement technological solutions that optimize both digital operations and on-site team workflows.”

⏤ Vincent Richer, Product Owner at Mirego

The new website is now live at plainsofabraham.ca.
